Kindergarten Castles

Description: For this project we learned about a famous artist who made drawings of castles out of shapes. We then cut out four shapes we had to use to construct our castles. We traced our shapes on a separate paper to create an outline. Once our drawings were constructed, we outlined them in sharpie. We then colored our castles in and colored the background as well, making sure to use a color on the background that made our castles pop.

Extension: This lesson could be split apart when helping students learn their shapes and about colors. There could be one day they can only construct their castles using squares and have to color them all cool colors. Another day they would have to create castles using only triangles and have to color them all warm colors etc.
